On Saturday 9th June we held our forth annual Charity Day to raise monies for the wonderful work of this years two nominated charities, Weston Hospicecare and the RNLI (Winscombe Branch), who are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.
The sun was shining down on us this, which made a nice change from previous years. We had some new games for people to play, which seemed to go down well. Lob-a-choc, find the Joker, key to the door and cutting the deck as well as our traditional games treasure island, wine or water and name the teddy.
There were a lot of new faces year this, which was nice to see. Carol and Paul from the RNLI manned a stall and helped with one of the games and Rachel from Weston Hospicecare baked some lovely cakes and also did the face-painting for us, along with our usual volunteers who kindly helped with the raffle, games and BBQ. A good day was had by everyone involved and we managed to raise an amazing £4351.35, which will be paid to the charities at the end of the year, when we have finished raising monies for them at the Christmas Fayre and also with our Memorial Christmas Tree.
